Environmental Award of the Viktor and Sigrid Dulger Foundation awarded to Dr. Lisa Gölz
Ecotoxicologist Dr. Lisa Gölz has been awarded the Viktor and Sigrid Dulger Foundation's Environmental Prize for outstanding research achievements of great relevance to environmental research. The 2023 award, endowed with 10,000 euros, recognizes her doctoral thesis on the effect of chemicals on the hormone system of fish, specifically the thyroid gland, which she completed at Heidelberg University. In addition to new findings in the field of biomedicine, the dissertation also makes important contributions to animal welfare and environmental protection as well as the handling of chemicals in general, according to the justification for the award. The prize was awarded by the Heidelberg Center for the Environment (HCE), the university's environmental science research center, on 17 January 2024.
